MICHAEL BEARDEN'S FAN PAGE
It was the last week of the year, one day I get this private message from WenDee Stafford,Administrator for Michael Bearden's Fan page. She was getting touch with me to see if I would like to be Fan of the Week for the 1st week of January, on Michael Bearden's Fan Page. Well being a Michael Bearden fan myself, I was quite honored. I admire him for his passion for what he loves to do, so proud of all the prestigious jobs and honors he has received. I also love how he has honored Michael Jackson, with love and has adopted Michael's fans as his own.
Then the horror sets in, I'm not a writer, I had always done horrible in English class, what the heck am I gonna say. How did she contact me out of thousands of Michael Jackson fans out there in this Facebook world? After I accepted I thought what am I going to say...OMG! The timing of this honor also came at a terribly stressful time in my life, I thought, what have I got myself into, I am barely functioning and I am adding this on top. It was also an intriguing time with an unexpected meeting of a new friend, through an MJ song in the night, that arrived by a private message and a simple hello. So now I have this crazy mixed up feelings of stress, fear and the blushing happiness of flattery. My mind was going into overdrive, but I found it all came together, each feeling helped to relieve one of the other. My mind was taken away from my worries and transported into a world of friends, love and Michael Jackson as I sat down to write my daily entry.
INTRODUCTION
Hello MJ Family...My name is Karen Jackson, formally known as Mrs. Michael Jackson and that's no joke! I use to be married to a Michael Jackson for over 20 years. At one time, I use to live in a back house & I used to see this Harley Davidson parked in the pool house in the back, my landlord said that it belong to her son. One day as I arrived home from work, I saw this guy working on his Harley in the driveway, well the thrill of adventure caught hold and before I knew it, I was off on the beginning of my adventure to become Mrs. Michael Jackson. Well a few years of dating went by and we eventually married and had 3 children, I guess you could say, we were the Jackson 5. Being Mrs. Michael Jackson brought me many fun, funny and memorable experiences.
I have to say, each of my adult kids have their own unique personality. My daughter Kelsey is 22 and the socialite. I remember when she was 3 years old, she just loved the Moonwalker VHS and she would watch it everyday, she had a whole dance routine, even up to the HeHe on her toes, it was so cute. My son Colin, 26 is the rocker, his music ran more into NIN, Marilyn Manson, etc. I was totally surprise when Michael passed, Colin had spent about 3 days downloading everything Michael had done. I never really realized he liked MJ, but one day as Dirty Diana was playing on my computer, he came walking out singing every word with full force to my surprise. My oldest son, Travis is the computer wiz. He designs and makes movie props, which you have all seen in many major Motion Pictures and TV. I was lucky enough to have had him work along with me for over 14 years between two different companies, both dealing with the movie industry. I posted a couple of pictures of some of the movie props he has designed. Travis & his wife Catrina have given me my first Grandson, Logan he is 5 years old.
My first love of Michael came in 1969, that wonderful fresh sound of the Jackson 5 and the sweet young voice of Michael. I remember it well, it was the sound track for those first young dates. What perfect songs, "I Want You Back" and "I'll be There", they were the perfect songs for those fickle young dating years.
As the years progressed, it was great to watch him grow. When Billie Jean first came on MTV, I couldn't get enough, I would drive home at lunch time to get my MTV. I remember so well the excitement and anticipation of the Thriller Premier on MTV. I am a big Halloween fanatic, so Thriller had me sitting on the edge of my seat, I was totally in awe of what I had just seen.
I could go on and on, but I think this is a good place to stop for now. More Michael to come, so stay tuned.
I would also like to take this time to thank Michael Bearden for being such a great friend to Michael and all his fans, we so appreciate the time he takes to share with us, it really means a lot. It's all for L.O.V.E.!
